9/11/2023 0 Comments Fireside pies grapevine tx![]() Overall we were happy, just surprised at what we ended up with. The other two pies, a pepperoni and a meatball, were good plenty of toppings. ![]() The pie was good, but the vinegar in the dressing overpowered the mushroom flavor, which was disappointing. I had the special - an organic mushroom pie with dressed arugula on top. Pizzas are good they are thin, so small one person with a decent appetite can eat the whole pie, especially if you don't have appetizers first. I won't do it justice here but it had vodka, mint, and ginger ale. They also have interesting drinks, such as the nightly special when we were there. So don't order it if you are wanting something like the Melting Pot fondue this is not that. The whole thing was tasty and all ages at the table liked it. The fondue was served with delicious flat bread that made this experience almost like breadsticks and marinara dipping sauce, with cheese added. Again, not what we were expecting: The fondue was really the tomato sauce and melted cheese that you would get if you scraped the toppings off a regular pizza. Our table of three adults and two children (aside: we were offered a high chair and booster seat without having to ask) first ordered fondue. You'll notice it first when you walk in - the lighting is dim, romantic even the booths are dark brown wood and have a rich feeling you can watch the pie makers toss the pizza dough in the air. Like no bruschetta you've ever had before. This place is nothing that you will expect, which doesn't mean better or worse, just different. The meatball pizza and the "light n crispy" we're both fantastic. The pizzas are 12" so you could eat one by yourself if you're hungry enough or you could split with an app. Very good FOOD: Now, we had 3 guys in their 20's and split two pizzas and an appetizer. Cocktails are all hand shaken and take a few minutes to make. Drinks: 4 varying local Texas drafts on tap plus bottles and cans. ![]() Make sure you ask for Troy, what a cool guy. Staff: From the hostess down to our waiter and food runner, everyone was extremely friendly and easy to talk with. Ambient lighting, great background music, upscale casual building, great for a formal dinner date or a causal outing with some friends. Found Fireside on trip-advisor and decided to try it out. Tonight our band finished up a weekend show in DFW and we wanted to grab some good pizza to finish off our weekend of shows. They worked as a team - so refreshing to see! If we are ever in thr Dallas area again, we will be back! The atmosphere was nice but the service was top notch! I loved that anyone who walked past your table checked on you and made sure you had drink refills. I had what was the best cheesecake I have ever had! Sure, it was a little pricey for a pie but it was worth it. My husband had a pear cobbler (which he devoured). We ordered a pizza (I can't remember the name of it now - Northern something?). The waiter made suggestions for my husband's drink based on my husband's preferences. It was a cold night but we had a rental that we couldn't valet (and we prefer to park ourselves). We ended up on a side street and walked there. Unfortunately that didn't leave many parking spots. When we arrived, half of the parking lot was roped off for valet for Fireside Pies and the surrounding restaurants. This was one of the places listed in a relocation brochure so we decided to try it out.
